Since its inception, the Americana Showcase at SXSW has become both a tradition at the annual Austin music confab and one of the festivals premier and critically acclaimed events.  Featured performances in the past have included legendary acts like the original Texas Tornados, Dave Alvin, Jimmy Vaughan, Raul Malo, Buddy Miller, James McMurtry, Joe Ely, Hank Williams III, Marcia Ball, and an array of Americana's finest emerging artists like the Band of Heathens, Amy Lavere, Mike Farris, Tift Merritt, Ryan Bingham, and many more who have supported the fledgling non profit music association.
